Weighing In

Oh god… Here we go… The start of weightloss….

Kidding! I have started this journey so many times before that it doesn’t even scare me anymore. But this time I am accountable to the internet, so I hope it will work! To begin with, we need to do a quick weigh in~

Standing at 5’9, this is the most I’ve ever weighed.

It’s taken weeks for me to finally build up the courage, but…. Off to the gym!~


This is actually the second gym I went to within 20 minutes. I was so stressed out that I couldn’t even park the car at the first one I went to.

The self consciousness took over for a while and I completely forgot why I was even trying to get into shape. I just imagined people looking at me in disgust as if I was an outsider.

Even at the second gym, I sat in the car for a couple minutes and seriously thought about just going home and giving up.


I did finally get out of the car though, and snapped a quick picture. I didn’t wanna look like a creep.

It took a while to fill out the information because I was unprepared. For anyone going to Planet Fitness and signing up there, make sure to have your account and routing number for your checking account ready, as well as a credit or debit card.

I got myself a nice ol’ Platinum membership, since I go to school out of state, so I will be using that nationwide location service well!

Once I finished up with the application, it was off for a short exercise. It had taken longer than expected and I had work the next day, so I focused on running.


Cardio time. Oddly enough, I actually like jogging a bit, so this part isn’t so bad. I normally just go for a mile then move on (because I don’t know what I’m doing), but because of time constraints it wasn’t an option.


Wow! Better than I thought. Two miles is a good point to stop and this is where my cool-down period started.


My final workout summary. Two miles in 34 minutes seems pretty fair. I think my first goal will be to get to a 12 minute mile! (Is that too much? I have no idea! Seems achievable though.)

After this I just did some leg presses and went on my way… But not before looking at the locker room. It was very clean and one thing did catch my fancy…


A little hair dryer. I never even thought that would be necessary in a gym, but it is certainly cute.

Needless to say, I am very happy that I mustered up the courage and went in. The girl at the front desk was incredibly welcoming and I saw a lot of people like me trying to get into shape. I look forward to going again next week.

Next week the update will hopefully be about the trainer, Rico, that works there. Only if I can get an appointment… or something.
